- We cannot create ourselves because we arrive at adulthood with a lot of stuff other people gave us, usually without our knowledge or permission. But we can adapt and develop, so long as we are patient and understand that we can direct our thoughts and even our emotions to an extent. But if anyone starts telling you stories about magical transformation, give it a go for fun, to learn something, and then run for the hills!
